Center for Study and Child Protection (Pusat Kajian dan Perlindungan Anak – PKPA) is a non governmental organization working with children in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra and Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD).
Its main programs include advocacy as well as education and health programs for street children, poor urban children, child victims of trafficking and child victims of domestic violence. The organization was established on 20 October 1996.
PKPA’s main office is located in Medan and it has some special service units and a division such as Child Creativity Center (Sanggar Kreatifitas Anak – SKA), Child Complaint Center (Pusat Pengaduan Anak – PUSPA), Center for Reproductive Health and Gender Information (Pusat Informasi Kesehatan Reproduksi dan Jender – PIKIR) and Information and Documentation Division (Divisi Informasi and Dokumentasi – INDOK). Following the tsunami disaster, PKPA established some branch offices in both Aceh and Nias.
